The short version

Your files never leave your device. FreeTranscribe's transcription runs entirely inside your web browser using WebAssembly. We do not receive, store, or have any ability to access the videos or audio files you transcribe, nor the transcripts they produce.

What happens to your files

• Files you select are read locally by your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers — we don't have servers that could receive them.
• The AI model is downloaded to your browser from this website and cached locally. Audio flows into it on your device only.
• Transcripts exist only on your device unless you copy or save them somewhere yourself.

Advertising

FreeTranscribe is free and supported by advertising. Ad networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, subject to their own privacy policies. Ads never have access to your files or transcripts — those stay within the page's local processing and are not shared with any third party.

Analytics

We may collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (page views, approximate country, browser type) to understand how the site is used. This never includes your files, audio, or transcript content.
