🔒 100% private: transcription runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.
Drop in an MP4 and get a timestamped .srt subtitle file, the most widely supported caption format. Speech recognition runs in your browser, so even large MP4s start immediately with no upload.
Fix any words in the text box before downloading, then add the SRT to your video platform or editor.
Using your SRT file
- YouTube: in YouTube Studio, open Subtitles, pick the video, add a language, then upload the file with timing.
- Premiere Pro: import the .srt, then drag it onto the timeline as a captions track.
- DaVinci Resolve: File, then Import, then Subtitle, and drag it onto the timeline.
- VLC: Subtitle, then Add Subtitle File.
- Want captions burned into the picture? HandBrake can do it: in the Subtitles tab, import the SRT and tick Burn In.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between SRT and VTT?
Both are timestamped caption files. SRT is the most widely supported (editors, YouTube, VLC); VTT is the standard for web video players. You can download either, and convert between them with our subtitle converter.
Are the subtitles timed to the speech?
Yes. Each caption uses the AI’s phrase timestamps, so it appears as the words are spoken.
Can I get English subtitles for a non-English MP4?
Yes. Choose “Translate to English” under Output before transcribing.
